For teachers
Your daily loop, and why some screens show less than you expect. 10 minutes to read once.
Everything else in this manual is written for whoever runs the school. This page is written for you.
Signing in the first time
Your school gives you an email and a password. Sign in at your school's web address, or in the staff app.
Change the password immediately
Staff accounts start on a password your office chose, and it has sat in at least one inbox.
Topbar user menu → Change Password
If the app refuses you on a new phone, that is device binding, not a wrong password — staff accounts lock to one device. Ask your office to reset it.
Your dashboard
| Panel | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Classes Today | Your periods for today, in order |
| Students Assigned | How many students are in your sections |
| Pending Homework | Homework you have set that is not yet due |
| My Attendance | Whether your own attendance is marked today |
| Pending Leave Requests | Your requests still awaiting approval |
| Books Issued | Library books you have out |
| Notices | The latest school notices |
Taking attendance
Student Information → Student Attendance
Pick your class, section and today's date. Mark everyone Present with the button at the top, then change the few who are not. Add a remark where it matters. Save.
Saving sends messages to parents
An absent mark sends an absent notice. Depending on how your school has set it up, a present mark may message the parent too.
That includes corrections. Changing an Absent to Present later sends a second message — so if you mark the wrong student, expect the parent to hear about both.
You can only see the sections you are assigned to. If the class dropdown is empty, you have no allocation — that is an office job, not a permission you can grant yourself.
Entering marks
Offline Examinations → Enter Marks
Choose the exam, class, section and subject. Type the marks; they save as you go, so a half-finished class is safe.
Your subject list comes from the timetable
Not from what your class studies, and not from being its class teacher. If you have no timetable periods for that section, the subject list is empty and you cannot enter anything.
This is the single most common thing teachers report at exam time. The fix is for the office to put you on the timetable — nothing you can do from your side.
When a subject is finished, submit it. That marks it read-only for you and tells the office you are done. It is not a formality: until you submit, nobody can tell the difference between "still typing" and "not started".
Once an admin locks the marks, nobody can change them without an admin unlocking.
Homework and materials
Study Center — post homework and assignments with due dates, and share syllabus and resources. This is the part parents actually open in the app.
Notices
Communicate → Notice Board — you can post to your own classes only.
Trying to address all staff or the whole school is refused. School-wide announcements go through the office, by design.
Leave
Human Resource → Apply Leave — submit a request; your dashboard shows what is still pending. Approval is somebody else's screen.
Fee follow-up
If your school uses it, you can see outstanding fees for your own classes — enough to make a follow-up call to a parent. You cannot see the school's whole debtor list, and you should not need to.
Your own attendance
Depending on your school: the office marks it, you punch in on the staff app, or you scan at the gate.
If you self-punch, four things can refuse you, and none of them are faults:
| Refusal | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Too far from campus | You are outside the allowed radius |
| Mock location detected | Location spoofing is blocked |
| Not your registered device | You are on a different phone |
| Outside the punch window | Too early or too late |
What you cannot do, and why
| Not available to you | Why |
|---|---|
| Other teachers' classes | You see only your allocations |
| School-wide notices | Office decision |
| The full fee dues list | You get your own classes only |
| Editing locked marks | Ask an admin to unlock |
| Deleting your own attendance records | Ask the office to clear the day |
None of these are settings you are missing. They are how the roles are drawn.
When something is not there
Nine times in ten it is one of three things, and all three are fixed by the office:
- No class allocation — you are not assigned to that section
- No timetable entry — you are assigned, but not timetabled for that subject
- A module is off — your school's plan does not include it
Tell your office which of the three it looks like. It saves everyone a round trip.
Common problems
| What you see | What to say to the office |
|---|---|
| The class dropdown is empty on attendance | "I have no section allocation" |
| No subjects on marks entry | "I am not on the timetable for that section" |
| "You are not authorized to view attendance for this section" | You opened a section that is not yours |
| "These marks are already finalised and locked" | Ask for an unlock, with a reason |
| The app will not let you in on a new phone | "Please reset my device binding" |
| You cannot post a notice to all parents | Working as intended — ask the office to send it |
| Your timetable is empty | Either it is not built yet, or you are looking at a different academic year |
