The optional modules

What each of the extra modules does, what it needs before it will work, and whether you should turn it on. Read the row for the one you are about to enable.

Your sidebar shows only the modules your plan includes. If something described here is missing, that is your subscription, not a fault — ask your provider.

Turn on one module at a time

Every module here is empty on day one and needs its own setup before it is useful. Enabling six at once gives you six empty screens and a staff room that concludes the system does not work.

Library

Sidebar → Library

Book catalogue, issue and return, with overdue fines.

Before it works
Book categoriesCreate these first
Books, with quantitiesThe available count is what issuing decrements
A fine-per-day settingOtherwise overdue books cost nothing

Members are students and staff, drawn from records you already have — there is no separate membership list to build.

On return, an overdue book calculates its fine automatically from the days late. A book with no copies available cannot be issued.

Who it is for: the Librarian role covers this module and nothing else.

Hostel

Sidebar → Hostel

Hostels, room types, rooms and student allocation.

Before it works
At least one hostel
Room types
Rooms, each with a capacityCapacity is enforced

A room at capacity refuses further allocation — "This room is already full." A student can hold only one allocation at a time.

Inventory

Sidebar → Inventory

Stock control for what the school buys and issues: items, categories, suppliers, purchase orders, goods received, stock adjustments, issues and sales.

Before it works
Item categories
SuppliersNeeded for purchase orders
Items, with opening stock

This is the fullest of the optional modules — it has a genuine purchase-to-payment chain. Do not enable it unless somebody will actually keep it current. A stock system that is 80% accurate is worse than no stock system, because people trust it.

Asset management

Sidebar → Asset Management

The register of what the school owns: assets, categories, assignments to staff or rooms, depreciation, maintenance, disposals and audits.

Distinct from Inventory: inventory is consumables that flow through, assets are things you keep and account for.

Worth it when: you are audited, or you have enough equipment that "who has the projector" is a real question.

Study centre

Sidebar → Study Center

Syllabus, learning resources, and homework or assignments — the teaching material parents and students see in the app.

Before it works
Subjects assigned to classes
Teachers with allocationsThey post to their own classes

The homework part is what parents actually open. If you enable one thing here, make it that.

Live classes

Sidebar → Live Classes

Scheduled online classes with joining links, attendance and reports. Providers are configured per school.

Worth it when: you actually teach online. Otherwise it is a menu item that confuses staff.

Online examinations

Sidebar → Online Examinations

Question banks and online tests taken in the app or browser — separate from the offline exam module that produces report cards.

Before it works
A question bankThe slow part; budget real time
Classes and subjects

Online exams do not feed report cards

The two exam modules are independent. Marks from an online exam do not appear on a marksheet built from offline exams. Decide which is your system of record.

Certificates & ID cards

Sidebar → Certificates

Templates plus a generate screen, for transfer certificates, bonafide certificates, character certificates and student ID cards.

Generate for one student, or in bulk for a whole class.

Bulk generation includes students who have left, on purpose

A transfer certificate is wanted precisely by the student who is leaving. Bulk generation works from the year's register rather than only currently studying students, so leavers are still reachable.

Templates with fill-in fields are one student at a time

A template containing fields somebody types by hand cannot be generated in bulk — you will be told so. Design templates that pull from student data if you want to print a class in one go.

Staff ID cards live separately, under Human Resource.
